What I love most about teaching is seeing my students grow in confidence and skill. There’s nothing like that “aha” moment when a student masters a new piece or rhythm. I also understand how important it is for students to feel comfortable and supported as they learn, and I strive to create an atmosphere where they can express themselves freely and confidently. I taught drums and guitar at several music schools and also taught English using guitar while in classroom settings as an ESL teacher in Honduras (Central America). I also taught guitar one-on-one for several years at home and while travelling, teaching English in Central and South America. I play the kajon and also worship drumming in a band setting. With a lot of church music becoming more sophisticated, I have had to constantly stay up to date with new artists and styles you might find in church. I have played drums, guitar (electric and acoustic), bass, and piano with bands in all kinds of settings, touring to churches, playing outdoor gigs, and playing at open mike nights in the GTA. I'm still active playing in churches right now and always keep on learning. I had to learn. My philosophy is to never stop learning and developing.
