He has toured and recorded with internationally recognised artists and productions such as Hilario Duran, Jane Bunnett, Alex Cuba, The Canadian Tenors, Zucchero&rsquo;s La Sesi&oacute;n Cubana World Tour, The Lion King, Dirty Dancing, and Tina: The Musical. His recording work includes Grammy- and Juno-recognised projects in jazz, Afro-Cuban, and world music. Joaquin is also a dedicated educator who teaches at Humber College, is a guest instructor at York University, founder of Sistema Toronto Percussion and Drum Department, Harbourfront Centre, and community music programs across Ontario such as: Prologue Arts Centre, Community Music Program fro Toronto District School Board, to mention some. His teaching combines strong technical training with cultural and creative exploration through Afro-Cuban, Latin, and world rhythms. As an active performer, Joaquin brings real-world musical experience, professionalism, and cultural authenticity into the classroom.
