It is important to me that students form a healthy relationship with music so that their practice becomes less of a chore and more of a passion. I believe playing music is fun and extremely satisfying if you have a creative itch or just want to find a new way to appreciate the music you already listen to. I have been playing and performing for the vast majority of my life and I am well acquainted with many different musical instruments as well as ample time on the stage. Whilst in high school, I applied to The Arts Huron program to further my musical skills and graduated with my Arts Huron certificate specializing in guitar performance. Another notable experience I received while in high school is I was a part of several ensembles and school bands, percussion ensembles, guitar ensembles, and choirs. Since 2014, I have been playing guitar and bass in various bands including genres like metal, punk and a more radio rock style. You can catch me most weekends playing with one or multiple of them and if not, jamming at home. When not teaching or performing, I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi books. along with dressing my 2 dogs in crazy outfits just so I can confuse my 7 cats.
