I achieved an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. I am an Ontario Certified Teacher with almost 15 years of classroom experience, teaching most subjects to students from Kindergarten to College. In 2022, I became an Elementary Music Teacher (K to 8), and I love it so much that I wanted to keep sharing my knowledge and passion for Music with students outside the busy classroom. If you are interested in joining me on a joyful, musical journey, let me guide you on the piano, ukulele, recorder, flute, clarinet, trumpet, or saxophone. I create and facilitate a program uniquely suited to each musician, with a focus on theory, technique, and fun! I have extensive experience working with students with varying needs and goals, and recognize and celebrate the power of music to repair, inspire, and unite people from all backgrounds. When I'm not teaching, you might find me walking my dog, reading, or coaching my daughter's hockey team. I love animals, nature, sports, and space! I have performed in multiple musical theatre productions and have sung and played an instrument in front of hundreds of people. This is why I also teach confidence. If my student is working towards musical theatre, concerts, auditions, or struggles with self-confidence, I will teach stage presence and the importance of confidence in yourself and your capabilities. Music has always been a form of therapy for me, as I use music to express my emotions. This can take the form of happiness, excitement, anger, and sadness. I want my students to see music as a tool for personal growth. Overall, my teaching style is based on learning techniques that will help you excel at music and excel within yourself.
