I have extensive experience tutoring and training students, and I excel at breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I believe music should be enjoyable, and that students achieve the most success when they build a positive relationship with both their instrument and music as a whole. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that fosters that connection. I'm fairly new in my musical teaching career, but I have given private and group swimming lessons for many years. I've visited high schools and ran music workshops as part of my Undergraduate Degree, and given a handful of private French Horn lessons to family and friends. I've started to branch out to other instruments of the brass family, playing tenor horn (very similar to the baritone/euphonium) in a community brass band and picking up trumpet in my spare time. Most of my expertise lies in brass instruments as well as piano, and I'm happy to share my love of music with anyone who wants to learn! As a teacher, I believe the most important thing is to meet students where they're at, both musically and emotionally. My job is to facilitate learning and growth for all skill levels, and to develop musical technique so that you can better connect with what you're playing. I believe you should always be playing music that you *want* to play, so I take a very collaborative approach to choosing and working on repertoire.
