Hi, my name is Chad! I hold a Certificate in Classical Guitar Performance from Cambrian College, and I’ve performed on guitar, bass, and vocals with Sonic Democracy (Timmins High’s rock band). I’ve been performing since 2006 and teaching since 2026. My teaching philosophy focuses on building a strong musical foundation while keeping lessons engaging and tailored to each student. I believe that every student learns differently, so I create individualised lesson plans and adapt my approach based on their goals, interests, and learning styles. Whether a student wants to focus on technique, performance, songwriting, or simply playing for enjoyment, I design the curriculum to support their personal musical journey. In my lessons, I integrate music theory alongside playing, as I believe understanding the “why” behind the music leads to deeper confidence, creativity, and long-term growth as a musician. My goal is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves and develop their skills at their own pace. I’m here to help you reach your musical goals! In my free time, when I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing, writing, collecting music, and driving in racing simulators.

Another notable experience I received while in high school is I was a part of several ensembles and school bands, percussion ensembles, guitar ensembles, and choirs. Since 2014, I have been playing guitar and bass in various bands including genres like metal, punk and a more radio rock style. You can catch me most weekends playing with one or multiple of them and if not, jamming at home. When not teaching or performing, I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi books. along with dressing my 2 dogs in crazy outfits just so I can confuse my 7 cats.

At the same time, I spent a lot of time teaching myself and exploring music on my own, which helped shape my style and understanding of the instruments. I’m currently at university full-time studying Engineering, but music remains a big part of my life. In all these years, I’ve never practised because I had to, only because I wanted to. That’s something my teacher instilled in me, and I now hope to pass it on to my students. One of the most beautiful things about the guitar is that you can start making music from the moment you pick it up, no matter your age or experience. My goal is to help others discover that same enjoyment and love for playing.
