I started leading music discovery classes for my son and his friends when they were about 2 years old (back in 2023), and around that same time, I started teaching my neighbours&#39; two boys (now ages 6 and 10). Recently, their dad asked if I&rsquo;d ever thought about teaching more because his boys love my music sessions, and honestly, I do too! It&rsquo;s been a blast exploring singing, guitar, piano, drums, jamming together, and learning the basics of music production on their iPads. Over the years, I&#39;ve taught toddlers, kids, and adults, but I began formally teaching music in 2023. When I&rsquo;m not teaching or making music with friends, I love spending time with my wife and 4-year-old son&mdash;playing at the park, cooking together, and making lots of noise in the kitchen! I also consult with Canadian businesses to help them access government incentives for training apprentices and co-op students, including grants, tax credits, and refunds. From writing for other artists, myself and performing on big and small stages across Canada and the U.S.&nbsp;I had the chance to work alongside some incredible people including Grammy winning songwriters, artists and a vocal coach who taught Nelly Furtado who helped me develop into a highly skilled vocalist. Along the way, I discovered a deep love for teaching. After 4+ years of teaching at various schools in the GTA, I&#39;ve found nothing beats the joy of seeing my students grow as vocalist, artists and individuals. My goal is to pass on my knowledge and my passion to my students. I want them to be able to learn but still have fun and gain confidence within themselves in the process. The friends I made and the musicians I worked with were so inspiring that I enrolled in theatre school, performed in more than 25 shows, and eventually earned a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Western University.<br />\n<br />\nArmed with a little education, I spent a year as Musical Director and Voice Teacher for the LYTE (London Youth Theater Experience) Program, which offers subsidized musical theatre training to families in London, Ontario. That season we presented Beauty and the Beast with a cast of thirty teens and twenty juniors, and when I saw my students conquering their fears and falling in love with performing, it was like it was happening to me all over again. I continued to explore teaching by moving to Thailand, where I spent a year teaching English in a temple school before taking a job teaching English and Music at a middle school in South Korea. I will always be grateful to my students and colleagues abroad for all that they taught me, but after two years away from home, I returned to earn my Masters Degree in music at the University of Toronto and to make the city my home.<br />\n<br />\nI am involved with several musical organizations here in the city, performing professionally for opera companies, choirs, and local churches, and meeting great mentors, but I still find the most joy playing covers with my friends, or gathering around the piano to sing carols or musical classics. I am a singer, a musician, an actor, sometimes even a dancer, and I love helping people find joy in music!<br />\n<br />\nMy musical journey started in middle school when I was cast as a young farmhand in a community theatre production of Oklahoma! The friends I made and the musicians I worked with were so inspiring that I enrolled in theatre school, performed in more than 25 shows, and eventually earned a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Western University.<br />\n<br />\nArmed with a little education, I spent a year as Musical Director and Voice Teacher for the LYTE (London Youth Theater Experience) Program, which offers subsidized musical theatre training to families in London, Ontario. That season we presented Beauty and the Beast with a cast of thirty teens and twenty juniors, and when I saw my students conquering their fears and falling in love with performing, it was like it was happening to me all over again. I continued to explore teaching by moving to Thailand, where I spent a year teaching English in a temple school before taking a job teaching English and Music at a middle school in South Korea. I will always be grateful to my students and colleagues abroad for all that they taught me, but after two years away from home, I returned to earn my Masters Degree in music at the University of Toronto and to make the city my home.<br />\n<br />\nI am involved with several musical organizations here in the city, performing professionally for opera companies, choirs, and local churches, and meeting great mentors, but I still find the most joy playing covers with my friends, or gathering around the piano to sing carols or musical classics.
