Why we do it

At Rockstar Music, the music is secondary. It sounds strange for a music school, but we believe music is so much more than just notes on a page. We use music as a tool to build confidence, self-esteem, discipline and leadership skills. Getting up and performing on stage teaches you something few other lessons can. You learn to tune out the noise, face your fears, and find the resilience and confidence to take on whatever life throws at you, and succeed.

That is what it means to be a ROCKTAR.

How it works
Trial. Practice. Perform.
1
Trial

Tell us what you want to play and we match you with the right teacher near you. Your first lesson is free, no strings.

2
Practice

Weekly lessons that come to you, in your home or online. You learn music like a language, so you play by ear, jam, and write your own.

3
Perform

Take it to the stage. Group jams, recitals and real concerts, where the confidence actually gets built.

The Rockstar advantage

Music is a language.
It's meant to be spoken with others.

Your brain processes music just like language. Most lessons teach memorization and mimicry, with no real fluency. We teach it the way you learned to talk, so you can actually speak it: play in a band, write your own songs, learn a song by ear, and have a lot of fun.

Questions
Before you book your free trial

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes. Every new student gets a free 30-minute trial lesson with their chosen Rockstar teacher. No credit card required, no commitment. Submit a booking request and our team follows up within 24 hours to schedule it.

How are teachers vetted?

Every Rockstar teacher is hand-picked and vulnerable-sector checked, the Canadian police-record screening required for working with children. Most have university or conservatory training, and many are working musicians with active performing, composing, or recording careers. Each teacher's profile shows aggregate ratings and verbatim student reviews.

Do teachers really come to my house?

Yes. In-home is our flagship lesson format and what we are best known for. Each teacher serves a defined radius around their location, and we pair every student with the closest qualified instructor for their instrument and age range.

What ages and levels do you teach?

All ages from 3 (Tots) through Seniors, and all skill levels from Beginner to Advanced. Coverage for any specific instrument-by-age combination depends on which teachers serve your region. Visit your city's lessons page to see who is available.

Can my child learn rock or pop, not just classical?

Yes. Rockstar Music hires from every musical background: classical conservatory graduates and Suzuki teachers alongside jazz players, rock and pop performers, songwriters, and recording artists. Each Rockstar teacher brings their own musical story; choose the one whose world matches your goals.

Do you teach RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) exam preparation?

Yes. Many of our piano, violin, and theory instructors prepare students for RCM exams alongside their primary repertoire. Suzuki methodology is also offered by several violin and piano teachers.

Can I take lessons online instead?

Yes. Online lessons run over video call with the same instructors, the same curriculum, and the same booking flow as in-home. Select Online as your preferred format when booking.
