Hello, I’m Jordan. I am a lifelong musician. I grew up immersed in music, studying piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music from the age of 8 before expanding into drums and percussion. I have received my Grade 9 RCM Certificate and have been teaching since 2010. I believe the best motivator for learning music is positive encouragement. Understanding is most important, and helping the student understand the goal and what needs attention is the teacher’s primary job. I want students to be able to read music and know theory, but also understand how to actually play the piano and enjoy making music. I performed in many festivals and recitals in my youth and have played in many bands over the years, both in recordings and at live shows as a drummer. Outside of teaching and performing music, I love movies, comic books, martial arts and camping excursions with my wife and daughters.
