Hi, I'm Shatira! I studied in the Community Music Program at Wilfrid Laurier University. I have been teaching music since 2024. My approach to music lessons begins with prioritising how the student learns. What works, what doesn't, what sparks interest, and what allows for the most creativity. Together we will learn pre-existing songs, methods, theory and chords, while also exercising the muscle of improvisation and music-making from scratch. I have been performing across Ontario for 7 years, including local festivals and private shows. I enjoy hiking, biking and camping. I love being in community, cooking good, hearty food, and my friends mean as much to me as family. I am so looking forward to working with music enthusiasts as they embark on the momentous journey of learning to play an instrument!
