Hi! I'm Helena, I've been teaching private vocal lessons since 2023 but I've informally helped people learn music, theory, and work on their vocal performance for much longer. I have a diploma from Cawthra Park Secondary School's Regional Arts Vocal Program, as well as a degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Sheridan College 2025. I have an extensive background in musical theatre training, as well as lot of choral and ensemble experience, but I have a love for many other music genres and have experience singing and teaching a wide variety of genres. I love everything from pop punk to jazz to country, celtic, folk, classical, and more! As a teacher I believe that the most important thing is to have fun and try/learn new things because above all else music is joyous and a beautiful, wonderful thing to make, and expanding your knowledge will never go out of style! I am dedicated to helping you overcome obstacles on your journey to improving your skills and we will work together to find how best to use your sound, and what kind of singer you are! No matter if you want to master one genre, or become a jack of all trades, I'm here to support you. My philosophy of fun also extends to my music theory teaching, because I see music theory as a puzzle to solve and who doesn't love a good puzzle? When I'm not teaching or auditioning for shows you'll find me indulging in one of my millions of hobbies, such as hand embroidery, drawing, painting, composing, dancing, going to renaissance faires, kayaking, going on walks, or sewing, all while usually listening to My Chemical Romance (or some other emo band), Marianas Trench, Connie Francis, The Crane Wives, or Romantic Era orchestral music.
