Vanessa offers piano and voice lessons in all styles of music, from beginner to advanced. At only age 12, her voice coach was Gisele Fredette (Celine Dion’s voice coach) till she graduated high school as the top vocalist in her music class. She has a Bachelor of Arts - Music Degree (specialized in Jazz / Blues vocal, Gospel, Classical - Opera, R&B; Jazz / Classical Piano) and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing Voice and Piano. Vanessa's approach is to help each student with what genre they'd love to sing or play and make them feel inspired. She is able to point out what needs improvement during each lesson but help students fix their weaknesses in a positive way so they come back to their next lesson with excitement. She would never want to make her students feel discouraged because they are in her presence to learn and reach new goals with enthusiasm. Lessons are successful due to strong communication, high empathy, passion for music and she is a perceptive listener. Vanessa has been teaching lessons for 16 years. She has taught at several schools as the Top Voice and Piano teacher in each establishment. She has taught over 200 people, many who got offered to perform on the Disney Channel after her voice and piano coaching. She has also helped several students succeed in RCM exams and recitals. She has collaborated with many famous DJs, Ariana Grande's producer Andy Krehm, Whitney Houston's - Anthony Paiano, Tory Lanez' - Dep BCS. She has co-produced and performed with legendary artists such as MC Flipside and Deadmau5, stating “she is the best singer live and an amazing songwriter.” In her career, she has performed numerous solo piano recitals, including at the York Recital Hall and various performances in Boston, Cuba, and all over Toronto. She also performs regularly as a solo pianist / singer for private events, popular festivals, weddings, and concerts. She was honored to perform with Legendary Chaka Khans drummer for a Prince Tribute (2015). Vanessa is also a sought-after piano accompanist for instrumentalists, vocalists - including studio sessions, and has accompanied for church services and choirs. She has also composed her own R&B album and has been featured on several albums as a pianist and vocalist. Her piano and musical skills have given her many unique opportunities and awards (1st place as a poet /songwriter at only age 11). Vanessa’s high level of qualifications and expertise allow her to teach inspiring Piano and Voice lessons and help to fulfill each student’s goals and aspirations. Her favourite genres to sing are R&b, Blues, Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Disney, Italian repertoire, Rock and House music. Her favourite pianists/composers are Chopin, Larysa Kuzmenko, Dmitri Kabalevsky (little song), Mike Schoenmehl, Joyce Grill (left alone), Alexandre Tansman (both ways), Alicia keys, Fiona Apple, Stevie Wonder.
