Hello, I'm Jackson! I hold a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on saxophone performance and composition from the University of British Columbia, and I also hold a Grade 10 Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I have been teaching music since 2013. I love getting to know my students and am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise with others. My main goal is to instil a similar passion for playing and creating music by catering my lessons to the individual. Whether it's learning your favourite tune, preparing for an audition, or writing your next masterpiece, I aim to provide students with the necessary guidance and discipline for success and finding their musical voice through fun and engaging lessons! While in school, I served as the lead tenor in the UBC Jazz 1 band for four years, also playing baritone saxophone in the UBC Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. I have experience as a professional performer and music producer. You can catch me playing shows around the Vancouver area most weekends with various jazz, rock, and folk groups or as a solo artist. When I'm not teaching or performing, you can usually find me making beats, playing video games, or watching movies/hockey (go Nucks!). I look forward to meeting you!
