How are Toronto teachers vetted?
Every Rockstar Toronto teacher is hand-picked and vulnerable-sector checked, the Canadian police-record screening required for working with children. Most are graduates of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory, York University, or Humber College. Many are working Toronto musicians with active performing, recording, and songwriting careers across the city's jazz, classical, and indie scenes.
Do teachers really come to my Toronto home?
Yes. Our in-home model is the original Rockstar way and what we are best known for in Toronto. The teacher travels to your home anywhere from Etobicoke to Scarborough; you don't drive to a studio. Can my child learn rock or pop, not just classical?
Yes. Rockstar Music's Toronto roster hires from every musical background. Royal Conservatory faculty and Suzuki-trained instructors teach alongside jazz players from the Rex circuit, rock and pop session musicians, indie songwriters, and recording artists with active careers in Toronto's music industry. Do you teach RCM exam preparation in Toronto?
Yes. Toronto is the home city of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and many of our local piano, violin, voice, and music theory instructors are RCM examiners or RCM graduates who prepare students for grade-level exams from preliminary through ARCT. Suzuki methodology is also widely offered by our Toronto violin and piano teachers.
Can I take Toronto lessons online instead?
Yes. Toronto online lessons run over video call with the same instructors and curriculum as our in-home format. This is especially convenient for downtown families who'd rather skip parking and traffic. Select Online as your preferred format when booking.
