Schedule a class with Ian M

Hi, I'm Ian! I completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Toronto, while also pursuing academic studies in music education. I have been a music educator since 2021, and I believe that music learning should ultimately be a fun experience and that students learn best when they have the freedom to explore the things that they are most passionate or curious about. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where students feel safe expressing themselves, and I tailor my lesson plans to each student's goals, skills, and learning style. My goal is for students not only to improve their musical skills but also to discover and develop a love for engaging with music in all its forms. I am an active freelance performer in the GTA, playing in a variety of musical settings, from jazz and indie rock to folk and contemporary creative music. When not teaching, I enjoy reading, painting and taking our family dog on long walks.
