I’ve studied violin for over 8 years, starting at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes Conservatory of Music in Colombia, and continuing at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, where I’ve been part of the Oscar Peterson Program for 4 years. My training has given me a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary music. I've had musical leadership positions through guiding peers in ensemble groups and helping students prepare for school concerts. I've also played as an orchestral member, a recitalist, and in school events, including performing musical accompaniments for the Black Student Alliance's Black History Month assembly and working on community initiatives such as the Apollo Project Peel. My concept of music is expression, discipline, and unity. I encourage my students to use music not just for practice, but as something they can use to tell their own story. In my personal life, aside from music, I'm an athlete and a community leader. I know how to balance school, athletics, and the arts, so I try to be someone my students can look up to and learn life lessons from, not just music.
