Hi, I'm Joe. I have earned my Master of Arts from Simon Fraser University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of BC, and have completed Jazz guitar intensive workshops in New York. I have been teaching music since 2023. I teach students across a variety of disciplines and settings. I have developed a unique approach to guitar and bass instruction that helps students quickly become comfortable with improvisation, active listening, and personal expression. I focus on developing each student’s musical intuition and helping them find a style that reflects their individuality, regardless of level. I have over 20+ years of musical experience, including performing, touring and recording with various bands, and working as an in-demand session player for a range of Vancouver artists. When not teaching or performing, you can find me camping, hiking and visiting the beach near home.
